What is the Price of a Residence VISA for the UAE?

I have been living in the UAE for many years, and whenever I check my socials, one question gets frequently highlighted. How much is the price of a residence VISA in the UAE? The answer is quite simple; it depends, but nobody provides a proper answer.

The residence VISA UAE price varies depending on several factors, which include the type of VISA, validity period, and nationality of the applicant. In this guide, I will introduce everything related to the cost of residence VISA and other details.

Understanding the Residence VISA and its Types

First, let me introduce you to the residence VISA, meaning, it is just like a permission that allows you to reside inside the UAE and legally do whatever you want. Many people opt for the VISA, and even I did the same. If you are thinking of streamlining the application, contact Consulting.AE. They are your best option for:

    • Working
    • Living in the UAE
    • Access essential services

Although in my case, I have shifted to the golden VISA, which is basically known for its extended tenure of 5 to 10 years. Some of the common types of residence visas are as follows:

    1. Employment VISA

    2. Investor or Partner VISA

    3. Family Sponsorship VISA

    4. Property Owner VISA

    5. Student VISA

    6. Freelancer or Remote Work VISA

The residence VISA UAE price will depend largely on the type of VISA you are opting for.

Complete Breakdown of the Fee Structure

This is the complete breakdown of the fee structure:

    1. Entry Permit requires around AED 250-400

    2. Change of Status needs AED 600 or more

    3. Residency Stamping charges are AED 200 to 500

    4. Emirates ID Application fees will be AED 170 to 300+

Please note these are just rough estimates, and the actual price may vary depending on the type of visa and location.

    Medical Fitness Tests

All people opting for a visa to the UAE need to go through a medical test to check if they have any communicable diseases. This is going to be mandatory for anyone above the age of 18 years. Now, let me provide the typical costs for the services:

    • Regular medical tests require around AED 250 to 300
    • VIP or fast track services, in my opinion, cost more, and you should only opt for them if you really need them. The fees can be around AED 700 to 900+.

    Health Insurance

You must have health insurance here; I had to get mine done for around AED 600 to AED 1000. This was just a basic insurance package available here, but now I have shifted to the more broadly scoped ones at AED 1,500 and above.

Again, the exact costs will depend on the type of coverage you have claimed, the company’s policies and your age.

    Emirates ID Fees

The Emirates ID fee is around AED 170 for a single year, AED 270 for 2 years, and AED 370 for 3 years. Please keep in mind that this fee is not included in the VISA stamping cost.

So, now let me provide the total costs for each type of VISA option I have stated:

    1. Employment VISA (if paid by an individual) is AED 3000 to 6000

    2. Investor or Partner VISA is around AED 4000 to 7000

    3. Family VISA is around AED 2000 to 4000

    4. Freelancer or remote work VISA AED 2500 to 5000

    5. Golden VISA costs around AED 2800 to AED 4000

    Final Words

I have cleared most of the important costs that are present, and please note that if you are willing to apply, keep a funding of AED 3000 to 7000 ready. I hope this helps, and please note that there may be some additional fees or duties that may be levied, but they are included in the final estimate I have provided.
