Tesla is known for its sound system efficiency, but sometimes you may come across issues with your Tesla Model 3 or Model Y’s audio system. This might make you worry about a technical fault in your car but let me assure you that most of the time the solution to this problem is a simple one.
8 Main Causes Behind The Tesla Speakers Not Working:
Let’s get into the depth of each issue:
1. Audio Function Is Turned Off
Let’s proceed with simpler things. The first thing you should always check on is if the audio is turned off. Make sure to check the audio level and if the sound is muted.
2. Software Glitches
Software in an electric vehicle plays a major role in all the functions of your car. The same goes for Tesla’s audio system. Some Tesla owners have noticed that after a software update, only the front speakers work.
If you think the answer to the problem is a software glitch, the easiest solution would be to reboot the system or restart the car.
3. Speaker Issues
Sometimes the issue can be with your speaker’s choice or the wiring of the speakers in your Tesla 3. A faulty speaker might prevent you from hearing the navigation suggestions or turn signal sounds.
4. Bluetooth Errors
The audio in a Tesla only works when a proper Bluetooth connection is established with the Tesla app. If you notice that the audio is not working, then you should always re-check the Bluetooth connection.

5. Issue With The Tesla Screen
An issue with the Tesla screen can make it difficult for you to control simple sound system functions. In such a situation, the issue can be solved by a soft or hard reset.
6. Radio Malfunction
If the radio isn’t working properly, you’ll be able to hear all the turn signal, navigation, and reverse sounds except for the sound of the radio. This issue can occur when the antenna connection is loose or the radio itself has stopped working.
7. Loose Main Amplifier Connection
There have been numerous times when Tesla 3 owners have reported their rear speakers aren’t functioning. The common reason behind this issue is a loose main amplifier.
8. Dirt In The Speakers
Another uncommon reason that can cause sound problems in your Tesla 3 or Y is dirt in the speakers of the car.
